Mrs. Zerlean Salley Jennings was born on August 31st, 1929 to the late Peter and Gollia Salley. 

Zerlean was educated in the public schools of Cordova, South Carolina . Zerlean went to school for CNA and was also a dedicated nurse/midwife back in her time.

Zerlean was preceded in death by her husband Sollie Jennings Sr, daughter Elizabeth Jennings, siblings Vernell Hickson, Gedell Green, and Clifford Salley.

Zerlean gave her life to Christ at an early age. Zerlean was a proud member of Calvary United Methodists Church. Zerlean was a dedicate member of the usher board and the choir.

Zerlean was known to everyone as Big mama. Big mama was considered the front line matriarch on the Cannon Bridge Road. Big mama never met a stranger, everyone was considered family to her. She was well known in the community and made a major impact on all those who she met. Big mama would always remind you that, you have to love everyone if you wanted to see Jesus. She was the go to person for advice and the go to person for food. Big mama enjoyed going to town, spending time with her family, cooking, singing, and praising God. Big mama will truly be missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory 6 Sons Mr. and Mrs. Booker T. (the late Essie Mae) Jennings of the home. Mr. And Mrs. Wilbert (Gail) Jennings of Orangeburg S.C, Mr. Sollie Jennings Jr of Orangeburg S.C, Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Lisa) Jennings of Daytona FL, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Pete (Joyce) Jennings of Orangeburg S.C, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie (Linda) Jennings Sr of Orangeburg S.C, two daughters Mr. and Mrs. Deborah (Rev. Charles) Young of Orangeburg S.C, Mr. and Mrs.Darlene (James) Green of Cordova S.C. Grandchildren reared in the home Jilvonna S. Jennings of Cordova S.C, Mr. and Mrs. Booker Jermaine (Kelly) Jennings of Bakersfield CA, Martin Luther Jennings of Orangeburg S.C, and Daniel Clay Jennings of the home. 23 Grands, 29 Great Grands and 2 great great grands and a host of niece, nephews, family and friends. 

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Saturday, August 20,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 7:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, August 21,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 2:00pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
