Mr. Wayne Edward Johnson was born on August 25, 1953 in Cope, SC to Vernon and Tezell Johnson. He transitioned from labor to reward on July 29, 2020.
Wayne was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County and received his high school diploma from Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School in 1974. At an early age, he joined Macedonia AME Church in Cope, SC, and remained a member until his passing.
Throughout his lifetime, he was employed with Pacific Home Fashion, Greenwood Mills and American Yard Products. Wayne was known to be one of the most laid back and humble men around. He enjoyed playing the lottery, watching old John Wayne westerns and watching his favorite football team, the Raiders. One thing that stood out the most about Wayne was his unwavering love for his three sons and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jacob Tyler and Isaiah Tyler.
Those left to cherish sweet memories are: his wife, Estelle Johnson; sons, Coral (Krystal) Johnson, Anthony Hallmon and Brandon Hallmon; grandchildren, Payton Johnson and Avery Johnson; siblings, Timmerson (Alice) Johnson, Gail Alice Johnson, Kathy (Reverend James) Koger, Geneva Ryan, Leslie Mae Fields and Eugene (Veronica) Argo; brothers-in-law, Herman Frazier, Harold Frazier, Roosevelt Frazier, Alexander Frazier, James Frazier, Shelton Frazier and Nathaniel (Deloris) Frazier; sisters-in-law, Louise Tyler, Patricia (Carey) Ryant, Queen Elizabeth Frazier, Annie Ritter, Lillie Jennings and Lillian Frazier; nieces and nephews, Vanetta Argrow, Victor Johnson, Austin Johnson, Erica Simmons and Brittany Johnson; great-niece, Skylar Wilburn; aunts, Elizabeth Colter, Rosa Lee Huggins and Lucille Miller as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Saturday, August 1,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home from 5:30pm until 8:00pm.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 2,2020 at Good Shepherd Community Ministeries beginning at 1:00pm.
