Wayne “Hammer” or “Dirt Diver” Hallman, a proud father and all-around great guy, was born on June 10, 1966, to the late Leroy “Joe” and Rosa Hallman in Orangeburg, South Carolina. On December 2, 2024, Wayne completed his earthly journey, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and love.
Raised in Orangeburg County, Wayne attended public schools and graduated from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, Class of 1984. With his infectious smile and determined attitude, he chased his dreams with everything he had. After high school, Wayne earned his CDL and turned his passion for the open road into a thriving business, founding “Wayne Hallman Trucking.” Through his company, Wayne showcased his grit, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to providing for his family and community.
Wayne was a proud and active member of Edisto Fork United Methodist Church, serving his church with care and commitment. Outside of work and church, Wayne knew how to enjoy life. He loved fishing, whipping up a good meal, cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers, and cracking jokes to keep everyone around him smiling. His sharp wit and big heart made him the life of the party and a friend to all.
But more than anything, Wayne loved his family. He was a devoted father to Latoya S. Moore (Hallman), Darrius Hart, and Davion Hart. His kids were his pride and joy, and he instilled in them the values of hard work, resilience, and love. Wayne’s memory will live on in his children and in everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Rosa Hallman, Wayne leaves behind his children, Latoya,
Darrius, and Davion; son-in-law, Brian L. Moore; four brothers: Wesley Hallman, Darren Hallman,
Jackie Hallman, and Jonathan Hallman; sisters: Lila Hallman, Lillie Cleckley, Joyce Hallman, and
Jacqueline Ceasar; a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who adored him.
Wayne was a man who worked hard, laughed harder, and loved hardest. His laughter, kindness, and determination touched so many lives, and his memory will live on forever.
Rest easy, Hammer—you’ll always be remembered.
