Virginia D. Bowman was born on August 27, 1933 in Rowesville, SC. She was the daughter of the late David Bowman and Nettie Mae Donaldson Simpson Dixon. She was called home after an extended illness on January 26, 2022 at TRMC.
She joined the Hickory Grove Baptist Church at an early age, Virginia taught Sundy School and was a member and leader of the Gospel Choir as well as a Missionary.
She attended the public schools in Rowesville, SC and later was found by the love of her life and entered into Holy Matrimony on April 13, 1956 to Mr. David Lee Bowman of Orangeburg, SC. After her husband enlisted in the US Air Force, they moved according to his duty stations and after retiring Sergent David Bowman moved the family back to their birth state South Carolina on July 18, 1977.
Ms. Virginia cared for her beloved husband and after a brief illness her husband was called home on July 18, 1977.
She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony W. Bowman and granddaughter Kimberly L. Bowman.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter Diana Tobin of the home; a son David (Sandy) Bowman, Sr. of St. Frances WI; a daughter Beverly (David) Winstead of Kansas City, MO; a brother, Billie (Paula) Donaldson of Voorhies, NJ, a sister-in-law Ms. Claudia Dixon of Orangeburg, SC; grandchildren Leah E. Tobin, Mark D. Tobin, David E. Tobin, Clarissa Lei Monica Henderson, Nevada, Amy Lauren Stolarski, Oak Creek Visconsin, Joshua David Stolarski, West Allis Wisconsin, Matthew Aaron Stolarski, West Allis Wisconsin, Noelle Christine Stolarski, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, nine great grandchildren, Jordan Martez Smith, Jayvion Amari Smith, Oak Creek, Wisconsin and Elana Jayne Monica Henderson, Nevada a special great grand raised in the home, Valencia V. Bowman; a host of nephews, nieces, relative and dear friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Friday, February 4,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 7:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 5,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
