Vernon Virginia Parler a faithful Christian was called to her heavenly home on October 19, 2025. Vern as she was affectionately known, was born February 6, 1943, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Lucille Green and James (Boot) Zeigler.
She attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Orangeburg, South Carolina where she was a part of the Church Hospitality Committee, Senior Missionary Ministry, Ward Two and Floral Ministry.
Vernon was a great cook who enjoyed bingo, sporting events, traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Vernon attended John Ford High School, St. Matthews, South Carolina. She was a devoted employee of Utica Tool for more than twenty-one years until her retirement.
Vernon was a Volunteer for OCAB Senior Companion Program.
Vernon was preceded in death by her parents-Lucille Green and James (Boot) Zeigler, Sr., sister Cloria (Harry) Goodwin, and brother Charles Mills.
Those left to cherish fond memories of Vernon Virginia Parler is her loving and supportive son Shannon (Courtney) Parler, Columbia, SC., four Grandchildren; 11 siblings from Orangeburg, SC and surrounding areas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The service will proceed as follows: 

The viewing will be held on Saturday, November 1,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home from 12:00noon until 5:00pm. 

The funeral will be held on Sunday, November 2,2025 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church 310 Green St. Orangeburg, SC 29115 beginning at 2:00pm.
