Sylvia Gilmore Obituary

Sylvia Shari Gilmorewas born June 13, 1954 in Sydenham Hospital
in Manhattan, New York. She was the oldest daughter of Duncan Saxby
Sylvia attended P.S.25 Elementary School and graduated from Sarah
J. Hale High School in 1972, where she studied to become a cosmetologist.
She later furthered her education in Nursing at Syracuse University
In July 27, 1974, Sylvia married the love of her life, Fred Gilmore, Jr.
To this union, four children were born, Toya Gilmore, Janae Saxby, Chela
Sylvia attended Life Center Ministries Church. She was employed at
Naturalizer Shoe Store for 8 years as a manager and later finished as a

Survivors include: her father, Duncan Saxby of Manhattan, New
York; five sisters; Connie York of Charleston, SC, Cynthia Saxby of
Charlotte, NC, Tammy Brown of Queens, NY and Venus Johnson of
Brooklyn; five brothers; David Saxby of Brooklyn, NY,Anthony Saxby of Springfield, VA, Phillip Saxby of Yonkers, NY, Derrick Saxby of  Baltimore, MD, and Don Saxby of Brooklyn, NY. mother-in-law,
Clara Mae Gilmore; sisters-in-law; Annette (Michael) Williams of
Cincinnati, OH, Marian (Danny) Berry of Bowman, SC and Shalon
NY,the late Alvin(Cynthia)Gilmore of Holly Hill, S.C., and the late Willie Gilmore. grandchildren, Deandre Gilmore, Deon Gilmore, Davon Gilmore, Keith Dessasure, Jr., Jaron Gilmore, Jhela Gilmore and Arrianna Dessasure. Special aunt, Vivian Saxby.
