Ms. Shonte’ LaTara White was born on August 5, 1979 in Orangeburg, SC to Major White and Linda Perry-White. In her own way and for her divine purpose God called Shonte’ home on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Angels descended from heaven to give her wings.
Shonte’ was baptized at an early age by Rev. Dr. H. T. Williams here at Saint Paul Baptist Church and attended faithfully until she relocated to North Carolina. There she joined and served faithfully in different rolls at God’s Glory Deliverance Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Antonio Wilder until her health took a turn.
Shonte’s love for cooking led her to entrepreneurship of Te’s Sweetz and Treatz, LLC of Concord, NC, specializing in cakes, pies and other treats. Her smile would light up a dark room. Shonte’ was employed at Metrolina Association for the Blind as a Social Worker. She was an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers and also was employed with them. Shonte’ was also a proud member of SCSU Bulldog Alumni Chapter in North Carolina.
Shonte’ was preceded in death by both set of grandparents: Eddie and Etta White, Quillie and Zeola Perry, aunts: Leola Parson, Dorothy Green and Luretha Thomas; uncle: Timothy Perry; cousins: Lincoln White, Alexander (AT) Thomas and Nathaniel Williams.
Shonte’ leaves to cherish her fond memories her son: Tristen L. Boatwright of the home; parents: Major White and Linda Perry-White; a sister: Tiffany K. White; special nephews: Jordan K. and Chase K. Felder; uncles: Eddie White, Jr. Henry (Emma) White, Ulysses (Brenda) White, Floyd (Jessica) White, Willie (Mary) Perry of Far Rockaway, NY, and Leroy (Phyllis) Perry of Baltimore, MD; Ronald Boatwright of Charlotte, NC and a host of family and friends.
