Shirley Ann Jackson Fairey was born on August 14, 1944 to the late Kizer and Pearlie Jackson. She departed this life on November 14, 2021 at Prisma Health surrounded by family.
Shirley was educated in the public school of Bethune Memorial High School in Bowman, SC. She was employed at Ellis Avenue Food Service for many years, then she was employed at Roper (Husquvarna) Manufacturing for 20 years until retirement 15 years at Orangeburg County School District Five as a Bus Driver.
Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Willie James Jackson, grandson, Earl William Guinyard, Jr.; longtime companion for 45 years, Arthur Jim Robinson.
Shirley was married to the late Arthur Clay Fairey.
Shirley, leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children; one son, William (Sallie) Fairey, of Orangeburg, SC, three daughters, Anna (Stevey) Myers, Shirley Shuler both Orangeburg, SC and Katherine (Melvin) Glover, of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Lillie Mae Keitt, Sylvia Jefferson and Edith Jackson all of Orangeburg, SC; 22 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Thursday, November 18,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home from 12:30pm until 7:00pm.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 19,2021 at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery beginning at 1:00pm. All those attending the service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
