Shirley “Dollbaby” Magwood Williams was born on July 10, 1960 to the late Willie “Bubba” Magwood Sr. and the late Maggie Barnett Magwood in Green Pond, SC. She attended public school in Colleton County and graduated from Walterboro High School in 1978. After graduating high school, Shirley eventually left and went to reside in Atlanta, Georgia. Her “gifted culinary skills” led to her diverse positions which included the Dobbs International Airport, Ryan’s, Edisto High School (cafeteria), and her most recent career at Voorhees University.
Shirley was the “life of the party” wherever she went. She loved dancing and knew all the line dances, but above all, she was an “EXCELLENT” cook, who loved to cook big meals, have cook outs, fish fry’s, and have family gatherings at her house. She loved playing community softball and was the recipient of many awards. She had a great love for sports and of course everyone knows she was a true “STEELERS FAN”. Shirley was a true devoted member of Edisto Fork United Methodist Church where she served faithfully until the end. She was one of the most committed ushers on the board. For all of these things we will truly miss.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, mother, two brothers (Willie and Amos), one sister (Rosa Lee) and special niece Michelle Marie Magwood.
Shirley was united by GOD to her soulmate Samuel Williams of 26 Years who took care of her throughout her battle with cancer, and sacrificed to make sure her last days of life were peaceful and comfortable.
She leaves to cherish her fond precious memories: her loving husband of 26 years, Sam; and through this union her 3 step-children: Jacqueline Jacobs (Larry) of Columbia, SC, Samuel Williams Jr., of Orangeburg, SC and Taleshia Wilson of Columbus, GA. 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Two brothers; David Magwood Sr. (Rose) and Jerome Magwood Sr. (Laverne), both of Walterboro, SC. One sister; Ada Brown (Samuel Sr.) of Green Pond, SC;. Her Bonus sister and ride-or-die friend forever: Carolyn Jenkins of Neeses, SC, A Special niece/Best Friend: Carolyn Jennings of Orangeburg, SC, and a special friend Davita Evans of Clearwater, Florida; 3 Brother-in-Laws; Ronald (Essie) Williams and Freddie Williams both of Cordova, SC; Phillip (Rachel) Williams of Decatur, GA. 2 Sister-in-Laws: Mildred Johnson and Pearlena Williams of Cordova, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
