Mrs. Shirley Mae Dickson-Gass was born on September 7, 1941 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Jack and Daisy Dickson. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
Shirley was educated in Orangeburg County School District. She graduated from Wilkinson High School class of 1960. She went and further her education at Roper Nursing Hospital, Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College and South Carolina State College where she obtained her college degrees.
Shirley worked at Ambler Industries for many years until she began working at Jolly Acres as a nurse. She is a member of “Who is Who”.
Shirley married the love of her life Clarence Gass and unto this union four children was born.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Daisy Dickson and her husband Clarence Gass.
Shirley leaves to cherish her fond memories four children: Bridget, Clarence, Jr., John (Arbarka) and Kathleen; seven grandchildren: AJ, Martin, Roman, Kara, CJ, Kelly and Kelsey; 13 great-grandchildren; two siblings: Marion Dickson and Martha Ann Dickson, seven sister-in-laws: Rev. Janie L. Allen, Deloris Branch, Dr. Barbara Nesmith, Elizabeth Gass, Katherine Gass and Sarah L. Furtick and a host of nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Sunday, October 15,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Monday, October 16,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
