Shelton Smith

SHELTON SMITH was born on September 23, 1954 to the late Curtis Smith, Sr. and Eartha Lee Smith. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
SHELTON was a 1972 graduate of Edisto High School. Upon graduation, he moved to Stamford, Connecticut where he pursued his love for trucking and spent over 40 years in his profession. He made his final delivery on Saturday and entered the gates of his father. While doing what he loved it lead him to travel all over the world, but what he loved the most was his children and family.
SHELTON was a faithful servant and dedicated his life to his church and family. He was a generous person, who allowed his heart to lead him.
SHELTON was preceded in death by his parents: Curtis Smith, Sr. and Eartha Lee Smith; a brother: Curtis Smith, Jr.; and four sisters: Hester Davis, Rose Rivers, Jannie Woods and Debbie Ann Greene.
SHELTON leaves to cherish fond memories his son: Dwayne (Jewel) Chaney of Baltimore, Maryland; a daughter: Melodie Ellis of New York; two special daughters: Stephanie Palmer of Boston, Massachusetts and Ronette Franklin of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren: Christian, Julian, Adrian Chaney, Da’Shaua, Iyana, Jordan Ellis and Isaiah Palmer; two brothers: Herman Smith of Orangeburg, SC and Jeffrey Smith of New York; five sisters: Mary Grasty and Elizabeth Mims of of Bridgeport, CT, Pearl Bradley, Diane (Rodney) Wade and Evelyn McIver of Orangeburg, SC and a host of nieces, nephews and friends whom he cherished.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, October 27,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 28,2023 at Edisto Fork United Methodist Church 356 Lariot Rd. Orangeburg, SC 29115 beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
