Sheldon Rivers

Sheldon Rivers, 79, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, fell asleep in death on January 1, 2021. He was the son of the late Margaret (Maggie) C. Rivers and Johnnie Rivers. 

He is survived by his five children: Gregory Rivers, Brian Rivers, Patrick Rivers, Kawanda Palmore, and Rochelle Morris. He was married to the late Rose E. Rivers. He was "Papa" to thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Margaret Simpson, Marion Rivers, Edward Rivers, and Connie Rivers, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. 

Our dad embodied hard work and perseverance and retired from the Utica Tool Co. Anyone who knew him knew his love of working on cars, dancing, and playing cards. He was a simple man that enjoyed the simple things in life, loved his family, and believed in "what will be, will be". So while we mourn his loss, we know that he is at peace.

The service will proceed as follows:

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 9,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home at 11:00am until 1:00pm.
