Sandy Graham Obituary

Sandy Williams Graham, the daughter of the late Leroy and Alma Ruth Williams and granddaughter of Alma Kate Bennett, was born on October 15,1969 in Denver, Colorado. Sandy gently and quietly departed her earthly life on Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Sandy decided at an early age to commit her life to Jesus Christ. It was her Christian walk that led her to love and serve with a heart like Jesus. As a resident of Orangeburg, SC, she worshipped at Good Shepherd Community Ministries.

Sandy attended the public schools in Walterboro, SC. She was a proud graduate of South Carolina State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Following graduation, Sandy was employed with the Family Health Center of Orangeburg for twenty-four years.

On February 12, 1992, Sandy married the love of her life, soulmate and partner in “good trouble”, Todd Graham. It was a match made in Heaven. To this loving union, two outstanding young men were born-Brandon Todd Graham and Patrick Dwight Graham, who were the joys of her life. She and Todd raised their sons to be independent, good, and loving people. They were a very close-knitted family. They loved each other fiercely. The love in their home was made richer when Todd’s mother, Ella Graham, came to live with them.  Family meant the world to Sandy.

Sandy’s beautiful, generous and engaging spirit was evident to all. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she was a great sister, loyal friend, an amazing cook and a faithful fan of Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. Sandy enjoyed helping others, and she did so freely and compassionately. Sandy was a kind-hearted and giving person who demonstrated a love and passion for her family and for children. She also loved her dogs, “Jazzy” and the late “Diggy”.  She got so much joy out of life--cooking and grilling for her family and friends, attending various sporting events, especially the Panthers, and watching them on television with Todd, and vacationing at the beach with her family.

Sandy’s faith in God escalated to new heights when she received a double lung transplant in 2017. She demonstrated strength and perseverance throughout the surgery, therapy and recuperation. She was a fighter. And Todd was always close by her side every step of the way. Sandy was recognized as the 2018 Patient of the Year by the South Carolina Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for her “accomplishments in Cardiac Rehabilitation and for serving as a role model for cardiac rehabilitation patients across the state.”

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Alma Ruth Williams; her grandmother, Alma Kate Bennett; and her brother Bobby Williams. To cherish her memories and love forever are her husband Todd Graham of the home and her two sons-Brandon Todd Graham (Orangeburg, SC) and Patrick Dwight Graham (Charlotte, NC); her mother-in-law , Ella Graham (Orangeburg, SC); brother Randall Williams (Karen) of Walterboro, SC; her sisters Paula Whetstone(Lonnie) of Columbia, SC and Kathy Williams of Denmark, sister-in-law;  June Bethea(Malcolm) of Greensboro, NC; and her special aunt, Leola Greene of Denmark, SC,; four uncles, two aunts, seven nieces and three nephews; and a host of other family and friends who love her and miss her dearly.

Sandy Williams Graham, a champion of family love and endearing friendships, leaves an indelible mark in the hearts of those whose paths she crossed. Sandy fought the good battle. She never gave up. She gave this life all that she could and more. Thanks be to God!
