Mr. Samuel Murphy Jr. was born on September 10, 1942 in Lone Star, SC. Samuel gained his wings on February 5, 2024 at MUSC Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC. He was educated in Calhoun and Bowman public schools. He was employed by Roper, J.B. Hunt, Snoop Trucking Company and Helena Chemical Company, just to name a few.
Samuel enjoyed driving 18 wheeler trucks, watching Western sitcoms, listening to his music, working in the yard, and he especially enjoyed spending time and taking trips with his family and friends.
Samuel was proceeded by his wife Estell Murphy and his daughter Loretta Murphy and his grandson, his parents Thelma Buckery Heatly Murphy and Samuel Murphy Sr. his siblings Nathaniel Murphy, Geneva Murphy-Williams, Bobby Lee Murphy and Helen Murphy-Preston, and his nephew Zachery Tyler.
Samuel will be deeply missed and leaves fond memories to be cherished, two adopted children, Leroy Murphy of Orangeburg, SC and Keyina Murphy of Vance, SC.
Reared in the home two nieces, Shy’mia Tyler-Corley and McKenzie (Lil Bit) Tyler. Uncle Sam was very fond of McKenzie, Lil Bit as he called her affectionately.
His sisters, Verdene (Roosevelt) Cook, and Verna Mae Buckery both of Orangeburg, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Monday, February 12,2024 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 6:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 13,2024 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 2:30pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
