Roxie Bell Cobbs was born March 4, 1937 to the late Marion and Pearl Staley, Orangeburg, South Carolina. After her life journey on earth, she departed at her residence August 29th, 2022.
In 1984, she received her Diploma of Graduation Adult and Continue Education from Orangeburg Wilkinson High School.
At an early age, she joined Mount Zion United Methodist Church, formerly North Orangeburg United Methodist Church. Roxie formed and was President of Mount Zion United Church Children choir for many years. She received an Appreciation for her untiring service as President of Mount Zion Children Choir May 15, 1983.
Roxie later moved her membership to Mount Calvary Baptist Church, North Road, Orangeburg, South Carolina. She sung on the Senior and Mass choir.
She was employed with Orangeburg Nursing Home until she retired.
Roxie was a strong, faithful, caring women of God. She was blessed with special hands for gardening and when the harvest was plentiful, she shared with the community. She enjoyed traveling, singing, cooking, walking, dancing, word search puzzle, reading the Word of God, and having fun with family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Mr. Frank Cobbs Sr., for sixty-nine years, Orangeburg, South Carolina; two daughters, Mrs. Linda (Marvin) Felder of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and Sandra (Rev. Samuel) Lee of Newborn, Georgia; five sons, Frank C. Cobbs, Jr., Thomas (Valerine) Cobbs, Sr., John (Linda) Cobbs, and Tyrone (Kathy) Cobbs all from Orangeburg, South Carolina, Kevin (Anjelica) Cobbs of Summerville, South Carolina; one son Ricky Cobbs preceded her death; one sister, Lillie P. Haigler of Orangeburg, South Carolina, one sister-in-law, Virginia Staley, Selma, North Carolina; sixteen grands, twenty-one great grands, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Friday, September 2,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 7:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 3,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
