Mrs. Rosa Lee Morgan departed this life on December 26,2021 at her residence after an extended illness. Rosa Lee was born and reared in Bolentown, SC on December 27, 1950 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerry and Rosa Bell Benjamin, Sr.
She attended G.W. Carver High School in Cope SC. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church which she joined at an early age.
She met and married the love of her life Caluph Morgan, Jr. and they were united in holy matrimony on May 24, 1967, to the union they were blessed with six beautiful children.
Rosa Lee was a devoted wife, homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend of the community. She was an amazing grandmother and great grandmother. She cherished every moment that she got to spend with each of them. Despite her large family, she always made time for everyone. She always provided love and support.
She was an avid gardener and one of her other hobbies was going fishing with her husband and siblings.
She was preceded in death by her son Caluph Morgan, III and her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Jerry and Rosa Bell Benjamin, Sr. She was also preceded by eight brothers, Mr. George Benjamin, Mr. Oscar Benjamin, Mr. Donald Benjamin, Mr. Johnny Benjamin, Mr. John Albert Benjamin, Mr. Jerry “Wap” Benjamin, Jr., Mr. Lee Meyers “Fat” Benjamin, and Mr. J.C. Benjamin; two sisters, Mrs. Rita Mack and Mrs. Beulah Mae Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Caluph Morgan, Jr.; three daughters, Ms. Rose Marie Morgan and Pamela Nicole (Pierre) Gardner both of Orangeburg, SC and Mrs. Tammy Denise (Chester) Coachman of Fayetteville, GA; two sons, Mr. James Lewise Morgan of Albany, GA and Mr. Harry Ricardo Morgan of Orangeburg, SC; four sisters, Ms. Shirley Benjamin, Ms. Brenda Benjamin, both of Orangeburg, SC, Ms. Dorothy Benjamin of Englewood, NJ, and Mrs. Joann Pauling of Columbia, SC; one brother, Mr. Ronald Benjamin of Orangeburg, SC; one aunt, Mrs. Dorothy Evans of Columbia SC, two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Patricia (Henry Lee) Jennings, of Cannan, SC, Mrs. Diane Morgan, of Bowman, SC, one brother-in-law, Mr. Eddie Morgan of Orangeburg, SC; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
The service will be held as follow:
The viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 4,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 7:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 5,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am.
