Roger Williams

Mr. Roger Williams, son of the late Robert T. and Nettie Mae Aaron Williams, was born in Orangeburg County on October 7, 1950. He peacefully fell asleep on Monday, March 11, 2024, in Newark, New Jersey.
At an early age, Roger attended Antioch Baptist Church in Bowman.
He attended Bethune Memorial High School. Immediately following high school, he moved to New York and later relocated to Newark, New Jersey. He possessed many talents and diligently worked in many skills.
Roger was married to the former Mrs. Eloise Jackson, and they had one daughter, Denise Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Danny S. Williams, Gloria J. Ponder, and Rhoda M. Williams.
To continue his legacy, he leaves one daughter, Denise (Calvin) Jackson Spencer of Brooklyn, NY; six grandchildren, Hashim, Dwight, Isaiah, Hakeem, Shamel, and Juvanee Jackson all of Brooklyn, NY; three great-grandchildren, Amais and Sanai Jackson and Noah Young of Brooklyn, NY; one loving and devoted sister, Jeanette Gibbs, of Augusta, GA; two aunts, Lorine McDaniel of Philadelphia, PA and Daisy Smith of Jersey City, NJ; three nephews Derrick Gibbs, Thorne Williams, and Willie Jameson; one niece, Diamon Gibbs; special cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Psalm 23:1 – “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

The service will proceed  as follows:

The viewing will be held on Thursday, March 21,2024 from 2:00pm-6:00pm

The funeral will be held on  Friday, March 22,2024 12:00 Noon at Glover’s Funeral Home. All those attending the service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regualations
