CORRIA B. “CORA” GOVAN
Corria B. Govan was born July 7, 1951 in Orangeburg South
Carolina to the late James Brown Sr. and Rhodie Bell Brown. She
departed this life on Monday, May 29, 2023 after a sudden illness.
She was married to the late Arthur Govan of Orangeburg, SC.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her brothers: James Brown, Jr.
and Samuel Lee Brown, and a sister Mary Lee Brown.
She was a graduate of Wilkinson High School. Corria worked in
housekeeping at Slumberland Motel, Holiday Inn, and Comfort Inn
Hotels.
She leaves to mourn and will be missed by her daughter, Audrey
Michelle (Ceaser) Martin, one sister Sallie Mae Jones, and one brother
Gary Brown; five grandchildren: Benjamin Joshua (Kiara) Benson,
Derick Vandel (Veleta) Govan, Willie James (Sasha) Dash, Teon
Shamoui (Olesha) Dash, and Raven Smith. Six great-grandchildren,
De’Azia Janai Corley, Willie James Dash III, Tiana Audria Dash,
Tiara A’nailh Dash, Miracle Nevaeh Dash, and Teon Shamoui Dash Jr.
Two special friends, Sharon Felder and Ronald Bennett, and a host of
nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Corria B. “Cora” Govan will proceed as follows:
There will be no public viewing.
The Memorial Service will be Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Glover’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Staff and all those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
Friends may call at Glover’s Funeral Home. The family will receive guests at the residence of her daughter, Audrey Martin, 152 Project Lane, Bowman, SC.
