Mr. Carley (Charley) Williams

Mr. Carley “Charley” Williams, of Orangeburg, SC, son of
the late James Frank and Isabelle Williams, was born on
September 18, 1949, in Orangeburg, SC. He was preceded
in death by three sisters, Gladys W. Parker, Bettie W.
Hicks, Jannie B. Williams and a brother, Benjamin F.
Williams. Carley was called to eternal rest on Sunday
morning, June 4, at Pruitt Health Nursing Home
Orangeburg, SC.
He received his formal education in the public schools of
Orangeburg County and was a 1967 graduate of Bethune
Memorial High School in Bowman, SC. He matriculated to
Denmark Technical College where he received his
certification in welding in 1968.
In his youth, he joined Felderville AME Church in Santee,
SC where he served faithfully on the Trustee Board, Male
Chorus, and the Senior Choir until his health declined.
He was employed by Shady Grove Nursery for several
years and Mr. Nate Benjamin’s fruit stand in Bowman.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving daughter,
Cassandra Young Williams; two granddaughters: NyAsia
Young-Williams and Breona Young-Bronson; three devoted
sisters, Shirley W. (Lewis) Sheffield of San Diego, CA;
Hycena Williams of Atlanta, GA and Juanita Brown of
Columbia, SC; one devoted brother, David (Mary Ann)
Williams of Orangeburg, SC; one uncle and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, in-laws & friends. The family would like
to extend sincere thanks to Mary Ann Williams, his
caregiver. We deeply appreciate the love and kindness she
extended to our brother over the years.

Services for Mr. Carley “Charley” Williams will proceed as follows:

The Viewing will be Friday, June 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Glover’s Funeral Home Chapel.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Felderville African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Staff and all those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.

Friends may call at Glover’s Funeral Home. The family will receive guests at the residence of Reverend Dr. George Hicks, 1119 Senate Drive, Orangeburg, SC.
