Nettie Mae Summers, daughter of the late Booker T. Johnson and the late Crotell Shuler Johnson was born on February 27, 1927 in Bowman, South Carolina, God in his omniscient power called our loved one home on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Regional Medical Center.
Nettie joined St. Michael United Methodist Church at a very young age, and remained a faithful member of New Covenant United Methodist Church until the Lord called his angel home.
She attened The Rosenwald School in Bowman, South Carolina.
Nettie was a woman of many talents, she enjoyed canning quilting, cooking, gardening, going to church, fishing, raising her chickens, cats, goats, cows and spending time with her family.
She was a loving kind-hearted person to those who she came in contact with. Her smile, her laughter and wisdom will be sorely missed.
Welcoming Nettie home are her loving husband, Emanuel Summers, daughter, Leila Mae Summers, son, David E. Summers, sisters, Eleanor Jones, Elease Kennedy, Lottie Gillard, Rebecca Barksdale, Leola Beard and four grandsons.
Nettie leaves to cherish found memories, her daughters, Rebecca Randolph, Dorothy S. Stephens, Mary Ann Summers all of Bowman, SC; her sons, Willie (Ruth) Summers, Statesboro, GA, William C. and Eric A. Summers both of Bowman, SC; adopted daughter, Gracie Bookard, Washington, DC; one brother, Booker T. (Reather) Johnson of Philadelphia, PA; one daughter-in-law, Alter Summers of Bowman, SC 26 grandchildren, host of great-grands, great-great grands, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Saturday, November 27,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00pm until 5:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, November 28,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 1:00pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
