Mother Mabel (Reed) Hampton

Mother Mabel Reed Hampton was born on August 14, 1923 in Woodford, South Carolina to the late Onan Grover and Mary Murph Reed. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC.

Mother Hampton attended the public schools of Orangeburg County. She was a graduate of Claflin College (University) where she received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Mother Hampton worked in the public schools in Hampton and Orangeburg Counties.

Being reared in a Christian home with her siblings, Mother Hampton developed a great love for her Lord and Savior. She

enjoyed singing and working in various capacities in the church. She joined Jones Chapel Baptist Church as a youth and later on in married life, she moved her membership to Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was member of the Deaconess Ministry, a Sunday School teacher, an usher, a missionary and the church mother.

Mother Hampton was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Rodgers Hampton, Sr. and a son, Norman Hampton, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories four daughters: Doris (Frank) Simpson, Mary (Ronald) Brown, Beverly Price and Roberta (Hayward) Seegars; two sons: Rodgers Hampton, Jr. and Nelson Hampton; a special grandson reared in the home: Norman Hampton, Jr.; one sister-in-law: Jessie Mae Hamp- ton; her loyal caretaker: Malikah Madyun; numerous grand- children, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Saturday,October 17,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 3:00pm until 7:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Sunday,October 18,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am.
