Sergeant First Class Mr. Moses Washington Mack, Jr., son of the late Mr. Moses and Mrs. Mary Hopkins Mack was born May 10,1954, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He entered eternal rest on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Moses joined Andrew Chapel Baptist Church at an early age where he sung in the Andrew Chapel Junior Choir where his favorite song was Ole Happy Day. He was a 1972 graduate of Orangeburg Wilkinson High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army in 1977. During his tenure in the Army, Moses had the opportunity to see the world, ranging from the small state of Georgia to Europe. After his retirement he resided in Clearview, FL where he was employed by the Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) as a Correctional Officer/Technician assigned to contract company, Gulf Coast Youth Academy/Services. He served as a youth counselor as a part of the Adolescent Substance Abuse Program. He was a true professional at his craft by mentoring at risk youth from all over the state from ages 14 to 20. After relocating back to South Carolina, he begun work at Simmons Funeral Home and currently Glover’s Funeral Home.
Moses had a passion for fishing, his boats, and especially his grandbabies. He was generous with his catch to many people. You could always catch him sitting on the dock of the bay on his days off or spending time with family. Moses was also a member of the Morningstar Masonic Lodge #129 of Ansbach, Germany.
Moses was proceeded in death by his parents.
Moses is survived by his devoted children NeShawn Yvette(LeTron) Benjamin and Moses Washington Mack III both of Orangeburg, SC, Nakia Yvonne Mack and fiancé Gerald Bookhard of Columbia, SC, and Vanessa Moorer of Bavaria, Germany. 5 precious granddaughters ZaMiya Janae, Jah-Kia Serenity, JaNaree Layanna, Zaya Janelle, and Londyn Jaleah.His siblings, brother Jacob L. (Payton) Mack III, sisters Sandra E. “Lynn” Mack, Brenda T. Guinyard, and Cynthia (A. Stanley) Mack Brown, all of Orangeburg, SC.
One uncle David (Connie)Mack of Williamsburg, VA, and five aunts Sarah Mitchell of Harlem, NY, Hattie Patricia Pitts and Barbara Mack both of Orangeburg, SC, Lula Mack, and Ella Mack both of Dublin, GA. The Glover Funeral Family, a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, fishing partners Stephen Martin & Jacquam Hicks, and special friend, the mother of his children, Shirley E. Mack.


The service will proceed as follows: 


The viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 15,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home from 12:00noon until 6:00pm. 


The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 16,2025 at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church 3670 Five Chop Rd. Orangeburg, SC 29115 beginning 11:00am.
