Michael Cobbs

Michael Steven Cobbs was born on August 1, 1959 in East Meadow, New York to Mae Bell David and Herbert Cobbs Jr. He was raised on New York Avenue, in Westbury, NY, where he and his younger brother, Gregory Cobbs spent their youth.
Michael grew up showing a passion and aptitude for all things related to music. At a young age he excelled at playing the bass guitar and
became a member of his Father’s gospel group, The New Holy Lights. He continued on in the music profession as a part of groups and various ensembles after graduating from Westbury High School.
In June of 1982, Michael was united in marriage to Patrica Joe Cobbs. This union was blessed with two sons, two grandsons and a granddaughter.
Michael’s pride and joy was his family. He held a special pride in being a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones and friends. He took pleasure in giving all he could, whenever he could, to those he loved and he was cherished by all.
On September 9th, 2023, in his sixty fourth year, Michael was called home to be received by the Heavenly Father and reunited eternally with Patricia Joe Cobbs, who preceded him in crossing over.
Michael’s memory will be cherished and survived by two sons; Michael Lavorn Cobbs of Providence, Rhode Island and Patrick Dineal Cobbs (Melissa) of Charlotte, North Carolina, two grandsons and a granddaughter; Michael Patrick Cobbs, Carter Lavorn Lee Cobbs, and Kingsley Patricia Cobbs, his father and stepmother; Herbert Cobbs and Josephine Cobbs of Orangeburg, South Carolina, one brother; Gregory Cobbs, one brother in law and three sister in laws; William Lee Moody (Evelyn), Maxine Moody Jones, Lisa Johnson (Curtis) and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The viewing will be held on Friday, September 15,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm-2:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Friday, September 15,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 2:00pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
