Melvin Paige

Mr. Melvin Paige, 81, son of the late Willie James Page and Melnea Waller was born on January 6, 1940 in Robinette, West Virginia. After an extended illness, he was called home to be with the Lord on July 6, 2021 at The Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg.

Melvin received his formal education in Greensboro, Alabama and pursued a career as a truck driver. After settling in New York, he married Betty J. Robinson, to whom he was married to for 44 years. In 1976 Melvin and Betty moved to Orangeburg, SC where he worked at Flowers Food Inc, he attended Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, he was an avid reader, he loved to fish and play checkers with his checker partner and friend of many years, George Harvey.

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Betty R. Paige, his brothers, Joshua Page and Willie Page.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his step-daughter, Sharon Robinson of Orangeburg, SC; his son, Aaron Webster of Greensboro, AL; his brother, Stonewall (Hattie) Paige of Cincinnati, OH; his sister Georgia P. Woods of Greensboro, AL; three sisters-in-law; six grandchildren including his special grandchild, Pamela Hogan; eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, July 16,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 7:00pm.

A graveside will be held on Saturday, July 17,2021 at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery beginning at 10:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
