Melvin (Stud) Johnson was born to the late Daniel and Frances W. Johnson on December 16,1961. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 10, 2023.
Melvin was born in Orangeburg, SC and was raised in Rowesville, SC most of his life. He attended Orangeburg County School. He joined Mays Chapel United Methodist Church at an early age.
He was fascinated by [Big Riggs]. He became a truck driver in his early 20's. He spent 30 plus years in the logging industry, primarily working with A A&D Trucking and Davis Log Trucking. He enjoyed watching crime dramas like Law & Order. He was a frequent patron of Orangeburg Flea Market and the Huddle House.
Melvin preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Frances Johnson, brothers: Daniel Lee Johnson, Jr and Joseph Johnson.
Melvin leaves to cherish his fond memories: his sister: Catherine Johnson Stokes of Orangeburg, SC; nephew: Roderick Andrae Blackwell of Columbia, SC; niece: Shynika D. Stokes of Orangeburg, SC; a longtime friend: Jemerra Williams; two uncles: Eddie Johnson and Charles Johnson of Maryland, DC and a host of cousins that will miss him dearly.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Sunday, April 16,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 7:00pm.

A graveside service  will be held on Monday, April 17,2023 at Bethea Cemetery beginning at 11:00am. All those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
