Mattie Louise Jones was born in Orangeburg, SC on January 14, 1947 to the late Levy Sr. and Alice Thomas. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 at her home.
Mattie was a dedicate believer in the Lord, with her giving her life to Christ at a young age. She became a deaconess at Bull Swamp Baptist Church, and functioned in that role for several years. Later in life she served diligently as the first lady of Trinity Baptist Church for 14yrs alongside her husband. Mattie counseled and ministered to many individuals within the church, family members, and in the community at large. Her truest pleasure was serving God, and loving Him with all her heart. Mattie was loving and caring mother, wife, and friend. She was furious protector of her children, those she loved, and what she believed to be right.
To those who knew her, loved her comedic and lively personality that would brighten up a room. She would quickly welcome a stranger with her warmth, and exuberant nature.
Mattie's life was a living ministry, and that light shined bright for all to see.
Mattie is proceeded in death by her beloved husband Rev. Isaiah Jones Sr. and her siblings: Levi Thomas, Rosa Moorer, Leroy Thomas, Marion Thomas, Richard Thomas, Alvin Thomas, and LeRoy Holman.
Mattie leaves to cherish her beloved memories her children: Isaiah Jones Jr., Aaron Jones, Jennifer L. Jones, and Sherry Jones all of Orangeburg, SC; one brother Joseph Thomas of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends that will miss her dearly.

The services will proceed as follows: 

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Glover's Funeral Home from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. 

The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church beginning at 12:00 noon. All those attending the service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
