Mary Ann Kennerly

Mrs. Mary Ann Kennerly, 94, was the daughter of the late George and Mae Belle Stephens Stevenson. She was born on September 22, 1926 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours on December 30, 2020. She was affectionately known as “Poolie”. 

Mrs. Kennerly attended and received educational skills at Mt. Zion Church School. She was a wonder-ful wife and homemaker who enjoyed gardening, baking, cleaning and sewing. She was well known for her beautiful hand-sewn quilts and delicious pound cakes made from scratch. 

At an early age Mrs. Kennerly joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cope, South Carolina where she received Christ as her Lord, Savior and was baptized. She was a faithful servant who worked diligently in the church. She severed in various ministries until her health started to decline. 

Mrs. Kennerly was preceded in death by her husband the late Abraham Kennerly; brother, Willie Steven-son; three sisters: Justine Stevenson, Georgia Belle Stevenson-Burns and Nina M. Stevenson; niece Doris Sutton Davis; and three nephews: Harry Sutton, Claude Burns and Floyd Burns, Jr. 

She is survived by her niece whom she reared as a daughter, Barbara (Monnie) Simpson of Cope, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews and loving family and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 6,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home at 1:00pm until 7:00pm.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 7,2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Cope,SC beginning at 2:00pm.
