Mary Govan

Mary Davis Govan, the daughter of the late Joenathan and Mamie Jamison Davis. She received her wings on Thursday Morning at Edisto Post Acute.

She was born on November 8, 1951 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She attended the public school of Orangeburg. She joined Warren Chapel Baptist Church. Her passion was taking Care of Children in the family. She loved cooking and cleaning.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lynette Govan, husband, Samuel Govan, III and grandson Shane Govan; sister, Joan Coulter, Mamie Ruth; brothers, Jonathan Davis, Andrew Leon Davis and Nesbert Davis.

She leaves to cherish fond memories; five sisters, Blondell Davis, Mozelle Haynes, Elizabeth Hopkins, Carolyn(Anthony) Anderson and Alma (Terry) Pough all of Orangeburg, SC; brother, Benjamin (Cynthia) Davis of Orangeburg, SC; sister-in-law, Earthalee Davis of Orangeburg, SC and Marly Davis of Cordova, SC; two granddaughters, Shanik Govan and Shameka (Andrew) Butler, all of Orangeburg, SC; one grandson, Shawn (Crystal) Govan of Orangeburg, SC; nine great-grands, Zyshawn, Tyquanese, Tyshawn, Sayquandre, Emoni, Mashiah, Deandre, Dionte and Andrea; one aunt, Ruth Colter of Columbia, SC; one uncle Jessie Jamsion of South Carolina; mother-in-law; Eartha Lee Govan of Brooklyn, NY; sister-in-law, Eartha G. (Russell) Shuler of Cordova, SC; Dianna Govan of Queens, NY, Teresa Govan; brother-in- law, Willie (Eva) Govan, Charles Govan, Alexander (Evangelist Karen) Govan all of Orangeburg, SC, Reverend Curtis (Jacqueline) Govan of Grovetown, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 29,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 2:00pm until 7:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 30,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am.
