Marvia Rumph Obituary

Marvia Jean Rumph, daughter of Timothy Sr and Artie Lee Rumph, was born on Oct 21,1958 in Orangeburg SC. After sixty-one years, God decided to call her to eternal rest on Friday, August 14, 2020. 

Marvia was educated in the Orangeburg public school system and graduated from Wilkinson High School. She later furthered her education and obtain two degrees in Business Administration and Accounting. After graduating, she was employed by Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five as a Special Education Aid and a Bus Driver. She was known for her loving spirit and infectious smile. 

Family is very important to Marvia. She Really Loved her kids and didn’t play any games when it came to them. Hint” Don’t mess with her babies”. She invested a lot of herself into them. She enjoyed telling stories, playing cards, looking at movies, dancing and singing. She also was an amazing cook. She could make a mean Macaroni and don’t forget about them Collards. Family and Friends really enjoyed her cooking. She emphasized a lot on how it is important to take out time for love ones. 

She’s preceded in death by one sister: Glory Ann, five brothers: Timothy, Eugene, Hubert, Marvin and Willie Lee. 

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Her son Gary (Ernita) Rumph; daughter Oyeshina Rumph; one sister Artie Ellis; six brothers Cornell Rumph of Sumpter SC, Otis (Diane) Rumph of Madison WI, Tramell Rumph of Spartanburg SC, Hertis (Jennifer) Rumph, Robert Rumph and Theodore Rumph all of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousins and dear friends.

The service will proceed as follow:

The viewing will be held on Friday, August 21,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 1:00pm until 7:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 22,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 am.Services will be streamed live on our Facebook page Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg. All those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
