Martha Rae (Stroman) Hook

Mrs. Martha Rae Stroman Hook, the daughter of the late Willie Stroman and the late Martha Lee Henderson Stroman was born JAnuary 29,1947 in Orangeburg,SC. SHe departed this life on Palm Sunday, April 5,2020 at Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Bullswamp Baptist church where she was baptized by the late Rev. J.J. Glover.

She received her formal education at Wilkinson High School in Orangeburg,SC. Martha later relocated to Brooklyn,New York for many years until she came back to Orangeburg,SC. She was employed at Rotron in Orangeburg until she retired. She enjoyed bible study, entertaining family and friends. She was loved by everyone that knew her and the entire Sprinkly Avenue community.

She was one of six children and was preceded in death by her mother Martha Lee Henderson Stroman; father Willie Stroman; and her siblings: Daisy Mae Franklin Stroman, Willie Mae Stroman, Franklin Stroman, and Evelina Limehouse.

Martha leaves behind the love of her life for 38 years Alonzo Hook,Jr. of Orangeburg,SC; two sisters: Anna(David) Craig of Orangeburg,SC; Dorothy(James) Williams of Orangeburg,SC; four sisters-in-law: Berlinda Adams, Ester Washington, Myrtle Hook and Lonell Phair; two brothers-in-law: Ronald Hook and Bruce Hook; two nieces raised in the home: Deborah Lee and Wanda Lee Aiken; one special niece: Sylvia Craig and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The service will proceed as follows: 

The viewing wll be held on Wednesday, April 8,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 1:00pm until 7:00pm.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 9,2020 at BullSwamp Baptist Church Cemetery beginning at 11:00am.
