Ms. Mae Alice Greene was born on January 9, 1949 to the late Henry Green and Mary C. Busby Green. She entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the Mercy Hospital in Hempstead, New York.
Mae Alice was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County and graduated from George Washington Carver School in Cope, South Carolina.
Mae Alice moved to New York City where she lived most of her adult life. She was employed with Nassau University Medical Center until her retirement. Shortly after retirement she became the neighborhood watch person. She loved traveling and shopping. She was kindhearted and never met a stranger. But most of all, she loved her family.
Mae Alice was preceded in death by her sister, Henrietta Govan and three nephews Eric, Anthony and Nathaniel.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons – Kenneth Green of Cordova, S.C., Samuel Miller of Hempstead, New York, and Justin Green of Raleigh, North Carolina, two daughters – Denice Green of Hemptead, New York and Katherine Green of Freeport, New York, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grands, two sisters, Febbie Ryant of Cope, S.C., Mary (Edward) Moorer of Orangeburg, S.C., five brothers, Henry Green, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Harry (Elizabeth) Green of Cope, S.C., Authur (Mary) Green of Orangeburg, S.C., Marion Green of New York, James Green of Orangeburg, S.C. two special nieces, Della Govan of Orangeburg and Joyce (Pete) Jennings of Orangeburg, S.C. and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

The service will proceed as follows: 

The viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 15,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. 

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 16,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
