MARLIN THOMAS Obituary

            On December 5, 1975, Mr. Marlin Ramond Thomas was born to Mr. Booker T. Jennings and the late Ms. Lillie Mae Thomas.  Marlin gained his heavenly wings and entered into the kingdom of God on Thursday, January 4, 2024, after a brief illness.

 

            Marlin received his formal education in the public schools of Orangeburg School District 5.  He graduated from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in 1996. 

 

            At an early age, he joined Calvary United Methodist Church, Cordova, South Carolina.  Later in life he joined Canaan United Methodist Church, Cope, South Carolina where he served faithfully until his death.  Marlin served on the trustee board, Male Chorus and was the percussionist of the church.

 

            For many years, he worked at Husqvarna as a team leader.  He was a diehard Green Bay Packer fan.  Marlin also enjoyed cooking and having fun with family and friends.

 

            Marlin was preceded in death by his mother, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sollie Jennings, Sr. and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Whitfield Thomas.

 

            Marlin leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Mr. Booker T. Jennings,  Cordova, SC, his truly beloved friend, Ms. Yvette Duckson of the home, one surrogate daughter, LaBretia Walker, Cordova, SC, one surrogate grandson, Kenderick Warren, Jr., Cordova, SC, one fictive kin daughter, Shayla Williams, one sister, Jilvonna Jennings, Cordova, SC, four brothers, Troy Thomas, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Booker Jeremaine (Kelly) Jennings, Bakerfields, California, Martin Jennings, and Daniel Jennings, both of Cordova, SC, six aunts, Gladys Prince, Cope, SC, Matlean (Robert) Knotts, Jacqulyn E White both of Irmo, SC, Cheryl Thomas, Deborah (Rev. Charles) Young, both of Orangeburg, SC, and Darlene (James) Green, Cordova, SC, five uncles, Wilburt (Gayle) Jennings, Sollie Jennings, Jr., Lou Matthews (Joyce) Jennings, Ronnie (Linda) Jennings, all of Orangeburg, SC, and Larry Jennings, Deltona, Florida, one granduncle, Lemuel (Jean) Thomas, White Plains, NY, six nephews, two nieces, two grandnephews and a host of cousins and friends.
