Loretta Baker

Ms. Loretta Baker, was the daughter of the late Thomas Baker and Mary Lee Elmore Baker. She was born March 10, 1962 in Orangeburg County. She departed this life on January 3, 2020 at her residence. 

She was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County. She graduated from Orangeburg Wilkinson high school class of 1981. She went on to further her education at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, and she also attended the Corporation for Long Term Care University. 

At an early age Loretta was raised and became a member of Gethsemane Church of God 1258 Windsor Street Orangeburg, where she served as a Youth Sunday School teacher, a ded-icated member of the choir, and a faithful usher. In later years she was sent by God to worship at her neighborhood church Union Chapel Baptist Church. She also attended CornerStone Church. 

During Loretta’s life she worked at the United States Postal Distribution Center, Pirelli Cable Company, Quality Printing Co., and Claflin College. She was also a volunteer for Edis-to Habitat for Humanity Orangeburg division. 

Loretta leaves to cherish her memories (3) brothers, Stanley Baker, Anthony Baker of Orangeburg SC, Kenneth (Lawanna) Baker of North Augusta SC, (1) sister Stephanie Baker of Orangeburg SC, Derrick (Victoria) Elmore of Orangeburg SC, (1) Nephew Kenneth Joshua Baker, (1) Niece Mariel Janae Baker, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, relatives, and friends.

The Service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, January 10,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00p.m. until 8:00p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 2:00p.m.
