Lillie Mildred Jennings Obituary

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.”~ 2 Timothy 4:7
A Time to be born:
Lillie entered into this world on Saturday, March 29, 1941, to the parents of the late Cleveland Frazier and the late Louise Miley Frazier in Cordova, SC. She was the 4ᵗʰ sibling to Artis, Charles, Annie, Isaac and Janie Clay.
A Time to be educated:
Lillie attended the Prince Elementary and Middle Schools. Because of her meticulous studies, she was able to skip the 3rd grade. During high school, she enjoyed Algebra, cooking and sewing classes. She graduated from G.W. Carver High School in 1960. She also continued her education at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in 1996.
A Time to Love:
Lillie met the love of her life, Clarence Hubert Jennings, her high school sweetheart. They were united in marriage on June 27, 1961, at the home of her Aunt Ethel and Uncle Cephus in Cordova, SC.
Lillie and Clarence made Orangeburg their home and grew their family to include one son and three daughters.
A time for labor:
Lillie started her career at Smith Corona, where she met her close friend Janie Sims, and later worked for 23 years as a shipper/packer at Utica Tool, forming a lasting friendship with Teresa
Green. In 1996, she transitioned to healthcare after earning her CNA license, working for 21 years with the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and Caring Hands, assisting patients in the community.
A time for leisure:
Lillie retired in 2017 and enjoyed gardening, shopping, watching game shows, attending church events, traveling, going to SCSU football games, and spending time with her family. One of her
favorite pastimes was relaxing on her back porch in a rocker, with snacks, a drink, a puzzle book, and her radio, watching neighbors pass by.
A time for service:
Lillie contributed her time and talents to various organizations. She served as union secretary for IAM Local Lodge #77 at Utica Tool, earned the Five Degrees of the Order of Eastern Star in Queen Victoria Chapter #2, and was active in planning the G.W. Carver High School reunion (1954-1970). At Oak Grove Baptist Church, she held multiple roles, including Deaconess, Women's Missionary, choir member, and committee member. She also served at Trinity Baptist and frequently visited Pine Grove
Baptist. Lillie volunteered at the MUSC-Orangeburg and was president of the Frazier Family reunion for many years, organizing locations, menus, and family coordination.
A time for family to celebrate her life:
