Mr. Kevin Stacey Turner, 62, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at home in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born on August 13, 1960, in New York City to the Holsey and Jacqueline P. Turner.Kevin lived a full life exactly how he wanted to. After moving to Orangeburg, SC at an early age, he joined Williams Chapel AME Church. He began matriculating through school in New York at PS 125. After moving to Orangeburg, SC, he attended Holy Trinity and Felton Laboratory School. While attending Orangeburg - Wilkinson High School he actively participated in AFJROTC and drove school buses for the district, he later graduated in 1979. After high school Kevin went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a military policeman. After only a few years of service and having attained the rank of Sergeant, Kevin reluctantly retired from the U.S. Air Force after becoming disabled.Kevin drove trucks for several companies over 39 years and even became an Owner/Operator of his own trucking company, KST-CAP-GCW, LCC for several years.Kevin is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Barnes Turner; father, Holsey Turner; grandparents, Calvin & Charlotte Pointer.Kevin leaves to cherish his fond memories, his mother, Jacqueline P. Turner of Orangeburg, SC; sister, Evangeline "Angel" Pointer of Charlotte, NC; aunt, Sally L. Pointer of New York, New York; brother/cousin, Jeffrey (Tawanie) Pointer of Gaston, SC; sisters/cousins, Jacqueline P. McCloud of Myrtle Beach, SC and Evangeline (Renee) Pointer of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Eric Turner of New York, New York; godmother, Katherine Gibson of New York, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Friday, March 24,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm-6:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 25,2023 at Williams Chapel AME Church beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
