Joshua Waymer Obituary

Mr. Joshua Waymer was born in Orangeburg, SC on September 11, 1938 to the late Adekiah and Carrie Waymer. The Lord called him to his heavenly home on January 23, 2024 at Edisto Post Acute.
Joshua received his education at Great Branch Community School and G.W Carver High School in Cope, South Carolina.
Joshua enlisted in the U.S Air Force for which he served his country well. After military service he relocated to Detroit Michigan where he worked until retirement at Ford Motor Company.
Joshua was known for his love of his family, playing blues on the piano, playing pool, and the lottery.
He was a member of Macedonia Methodist before merging of churches to form New Light United Methodist Church.
He leaves his cherished fond memories to siblings: Mary Jamison, Ella Waymer, and Morris (Charlene) Waymer all of Orangeburg, SC. He leave sister in laws: Mildred Waymer of Hyattsville, MD and Katherine Waymer of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends with fond memories.


The service will proceed as follows:


The viewing will be held on Monday, January 29,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.


The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 30,2023 at New Light United Methodist Church, 3100 Neeses Highway, Orangeburg, SC 29115 beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
