Josephine Crum Bowman, affectionately known as “Josie”, the daughter of the late Delong Crum and Louise Carson Crum, was born on July 24, 1950 in Bowman, South Carolina. She entered into final rest on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Josie attended the public schools in Bowman, South Carolina. She was a member of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bowman, SC.

She was a homemaker and faithful caregiver to her grandmother, Edna; her mother, Louise, and her brother, Joseph whom all preceded her in death.

She was the youngest of four children. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Lee and Joseph, and her sister, Cora Mae.

Josie loved and adored her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always willing to assist with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever needed. She made sure they were at the bus stop on time and waited for them to return home from school. She enjoyed watching Lifetime movies, dancing, and spending time with her family.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving daughters, Ernestine Bowman and Lillie (Jerome) Dunning; grandchildren, Demontray Bowman, Tiera Bowman, Desmond Bowman, Jyair Dunning, and Hakeem Dunning; great-grandchildren, Tashyra Bowman, Demontray Bowman, Jr., Brakhi Jenkins, Ziasia Jones, Desmond Bowman, Jr., Amair Berry, Emery Dunning, Elijah Dunning, and Emmitt Dunning; nephew, Nathaniel Crum, Jr.; nieces, Lisa Felder and Theresa Felder-Guinyard; and a special cousin, Jessie B. Singletary. She developed a special bond with Keven, Tieyon, Montrell, Evonnie, Jasmine, Shatonna, Tammy, Jean, Craig, Camrie, Alexis, Nicole, Shameka, and a host of relatives and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, October 4,2024 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 5,2024 at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 150 Park St. Bowman, SC beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
