Joseph Edward Davis Obituary

Joseph Edward Davis, born June 16, 1968, in Orangeburg, South Carolina to James Earl “Pop” Davis and the late Carrie Mae “Tugga” Davis, was unexpectedly called home to Glory on November 13, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Roy Davis.
Joseph grew up in the Four Holes community and was educated in the Bowman public school system, proudly graduating from Bowman High School, Class of 1986. At just 19 years old, he began his career as a truck driver for Mixon Seed Company, where he worked until the age of 30.
He later joined International Paper Company (Sylvamo), serving faithfully as a Central Reliability Shop Leadman for 23 years until his untimely passing.
At an early age, Joseph accepted Christ and joined New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bowman, South Carolina. A lifelong learner and hard worker, he returned to school later in life to pursue a degree in Computer Technology at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, where he graduated in May 2015.
On April 4, 1998, Joseph married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Frasquita Davis, and from this union they welcomed three children, who were his pride and joy. In his spare time, Joseph enjoyed fishing, cutting his grass, working on computers, and spending time with family and friends. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of steadiness to everyone blessed to know him.
Joseph will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend—someone whose kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength touched many lives.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Frasquita Davis; his three children, Tyler Davis, Samantha Davis and Siri Davis; his father, James Earl “Pop” Davis; two sisters, Carrie Lee Brooks and Josephine Elaine (Joseph) Davis-Fogle; three brothers, Jimmy (Sally) Davis, Larry Davis, and Lloyd “Henry” Davis; his mother-in-law, Christine Thomas; two brothers-in- law, Carlton Thomas and Mark (Vanessa) Thomas; his goddaughter, Karmyn Carter; his special nephews whom he helped raised, Jamie Lee and Radrion Dwight; his “right-hand man,” Leon Snell Jr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Joseph’s legacy of love, hard work, and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
