Mr. Johnny Mack Brown departed his life, Saturday morning, August 23, 2025, at Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews, South Carolina after an extended illness.
He was born in Orangeburg County to the late Summers Peter and Jessie Mae Brown.
Mr. Brown received his education in the public schools of Orangeburg and graduated from St. John High School in Cameron, South Carolina. He worked as a Head Supervisor over Personnel at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina until his health declined.
Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucille Smalls Brown; one son, Johnny Mack Brown, Jr.; one sister, Patricia Ann Brown; and three brothers, George Marcus Brown, David Lee Brown, and Nathaniel Alvin Brown.
Survivors include three sisters: Mrs. Helen L. Brown Frederick, Ms. Thelma Mae Brown, both of New York City, NY and Ms. Mildred Brown of Ruskin, FL; one brother, Mr. Melvin Brown of Orangeburg, SC; two sister-in- laws: Dr. Elsie V.E. Brown, MSgt., USAF (RET), and Mrs. Clayer M. Brown, both of Orangeburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and family.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 3,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 4,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am.
