John Henry Clark, born on November 20, 1930, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on June 20, 2024. He was the cherished son of Novia Jennings and Grady Clark. In his youth, John was blessed with three siblings: Grady Clark Jr., James Price, and Pandora Clark Mims, all of whom preceded him in death.
At the age of 21, John married Essie Thomas (late), and together they raised a loving family of seven children. Following their marriage, John relocated to Florida where he worked in waste management for five years before settling in New Jersey. There, he worked as a custodian for 15 years then devoted over 30 years of dedicated service to Owens Illinois North Bergen NJ until his well-deserved retirement.
In later years, as his health declined, John returned to his roots in South Carolina, where he found comfort and care with his son Kenneth until his passing.
John was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Howard Lee Jr., Troy Clark, and Rashawn Lewis.
John leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his children: Jasper L. Clark Sr., Patricia Clark Lee, Gloria Clark Jaques, Kenneth Clark (Cali), Debbie Clark Glover, Jacqueline Starkey, John Clark Junior, and Tracy Clark. He was a proud grandfather to fifteen grandchildren, Roshawn Clark Brooker, Javarrus Shuler, Shelton Shuler, Dontrece Shuler( Jessica), Inga Clark (Quana), Jasper Clark Jr, Arsenio Shuler, Troy Clark, Darrin Gutrick, Netosha Gutrick, Precious Gethers, Jamel Starks, Johnia Glover, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
A man of quiet strength and unwavering dedication, John Henry Clark will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his remarkable life.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Thursday, June 27,2024 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Friday, June 28,2024 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
