Jo-Anne Zimmerman Butler, Daughter of Margaret Zimmerman and the late Joseph Zimmerman Sr was born June 11, 1956. She entered eternal rest in Loganville, Georgia on July 18, 2023.
She confessed Christ at an early age and Joined Beauty Hill Baptist Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and later Beulah Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia.
Jo-Anne Attended George Washington carver and graduated from Edisto high School. Jo-Anne further her education and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Jo-Anne was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Jo-Anne was a long-time employee, Volunteer, and retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Atlanta, Georgia as a Tax Law Specialist. Jo-Anne Was also a long-time Cheerleader coordinator at Midway Park in Decatur, Georgia.
No one was a stranger to her. It didn’t matter who you were, if she could help you or give you a hand up, she did. Well done, Thy good and faithful servant.
She was preceded in death by her husband the late Gregory Butler Sr. and her father the late Joseph Zimmerman Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her mother Margaret Zimmerman of Orangeburg, South Carolina, two Brothers Charles (Voncia) Zimmerman of Davie, Florida and Pastor Joseph Zimmerman of Orangeburg, South Carolina .
Three loving Children: Gregory ( Yonica) Butler of Lithonia, Georgia, Jeremy (Tanisha) Butler of Lithia Springs, Georgia, and Latoya (Rashad) Butler of Loganville, Georgia. Four Loving Grandchildren Antonio M. Butler of Stockbridge, Georgia, Gregory Butler III of Lithonia, Georgia, Aiden Kharter Butler of Lithonia, Georgia, and Raiden Lee Colley of Loganville, Georgia. She also leaves host nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts, and uncle.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Saturday, July 22,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, July 23,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 1:00pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
