Jessie Mae Hampton

Jessie Mae Miller Hampton was born March 23,1924 to the late Hampton Miller and Fannie Corley Miller in Orangeburg County. She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 27,2022 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC.

She was educated in the Orangeburg County School District. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Bull Swamp Baptist Church.

She was married to the late J.D. Hampton and to that union three children were born.

Jessie Mae was a hard worker on the family farm, Rush’s Nursing Home and a domestic worker in Massachusetts.

Jessie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, one son: J.W. Hampton, one sister and four brothers.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories two daughters: Margaret H. Jones (Kashaf A. Haq) and Evangeline Hampton, one sister: Osie Geathers (Earnest), one brother: Deacon Hercules Miller (Willie M) and three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, April1,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home from 3:30pm until 8:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 2,2022 at Bull Swamp Baptist Church beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
