Jessie L Fogle

Mrs. Lee Fogle, was born on July 20, 1930 in Orangeburg County of South Carolina. She was the first child born to the late Alfair Whaley Jamison and Herman Williams.

Jessie Lee was educated in the Rowesville Public Schools. She was employed with Orangeburg School District Five until her retirement in 1995.

She met and married the late Frank Fogle. They were the parents of nine (9) children. Her husband and seven (7) children preceded her in death: Frank Lee Duley, Dorothy Inabinet, Sammie Fogle, Mamie Dee Brooks, Roger Fogle, Elijah Fogle and Deborah King.

Jessie Lee was a lifetime member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where she served as a faithful member of the Mass Choir and Usher Board and was a member of the Kitchen Ministry until her health failed. She enjoyed singing and she led several songs and hymns. She had great admiration and love for her pastor and her church. She was a proud member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Association Mass Choir.

Jessie Lee, 89, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2019 at 2:30 at the Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Jessie Lee is survived by one daughter: Linda Rumph; one son: Harry Lee Fogle both of Orangeburg, SC; five sisters: Ruth Williams of Columbia, SC, Willie Lou Duley and Alma Mayes of Rowesville, SC, Margaret Mack of Orangeburg, SC and Marie Calloway of Rowesville, SC; two brothers: David (Janie) Whaley and Melvin (Sandra) Whaley both of Rowesville, SC; one sister- in-law: Mary Whaley of Orangeburg, SC; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; two special friends and cousins: Mother Carrie McClennon and First Lady Bessie Gourdine as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

The services will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Glover's Funeral Home from 4:30pm until 8:00pm.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church located 935 Calhoun St in Powdersville, South Carolina 29133 beginning at 11:00am.
