Jesse Odom, 70, was called by God on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born on July 17, 1950 to the late Jim and Alma Ray Odom in Denmark, SC. He was preceded in death by his sister Ruben Jenkins and his brother Albert Odom, Sr. He was reared and educated in public schools, Voorhees Elementary and High School in Bamberg, County.
He was a dedicated member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church where he once served as a member on the board of trustees.
He was a military service man in the army from Novem-ber 9, 1970 to August 29, 1991. He also retired from Savannah River Site after 28 years.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Willie Dean Robinson Odom of 21 years; three children: Priscilla Washington of Denmark, South Carolina, Phillip (Regina) Prophet of Norway, South Carolina and Kizzy (Davon) Joyner of Blackville, South Carolina; two step-daughters: Vernitta (Willie) Britt of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Chantell (Teddy) Williams of Columbia, South Carolina; one broth-er: James (Janie) Odom of Denmark, South Carolina; one sister: Rudell Reddish of Denmark, South Carolina; three sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law; fourteen grandchil-dren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, neph-ews, other relatives and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Friday, August 14,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 1:00pm until 7:00pm.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 15,2020 at Mt.Zion Baptist Church Cemetery 832 Mount Zion Rd. Denmark,SC 29042 beginning at 11:00am. Services will be streamed live on our Facebook page Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg. All those attending must adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
