One Friday, October 17, 2025, God gave our mother her wings to enter into the gates of heaven to have her soul rest in peace. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Everyone she met touched their hearts in a special way. Jannie L. Williams was born on September 5, 1933 to the late John and Thelma Salley.
She was educated in the public schools in Cope, SC. She worked in the church as a missionary. She was a member of the Willing Workers Club and the Kitchen Committee until her health began to fail.
Jannie was married to a loving husband the late Matthew Williams. This union was blessed with two daughters and three sons: Gregory Williams, the late Patricia Williams Gainous, John Williams, Harry Williams and Denise Williams.
Jannie will preceded in death by four sisters Maggie Salley, Caroline Harrison, Dorothy Jamison, BrinderKay Stevenson and brothers-inlaw Jeremiah Jamison and Herman Sanders.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories grandsons James, whom she raised as one of her own, and Chris Ganious; granddaughters Shania and Ty’Shauna; sisters Johnnie Mae Hampton, Thelma Salley, Linda Salley, brothers Sylvester Salley, William Salley, Larry Salley and Robert Salley; two brothers-in-law James Harrison and Dennis Hampton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Sunday, October 26,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Monday, October 27,2025 at Butler Chapel AME Church 5727 North Rd. Orangeburg, SC 29118 beginning at 1:00pm.
