Mrs. Janie Mae Whaley, daughter of the late Minnie L. Johnson and the late John H. Corley was born April 27, 1954 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2020 at The Regional Medical Center in Orange-burg, South Carolina.
Janie attended the public schools of Orangeburg County. She also attended Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology and Nursing School in Manning, SC. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and planting flowers. She attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church and visited Mr. Sinai Baptist Church frequently. She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Mary A. Corley and Deborah Ann Stroman; two brothers: Samuel Corley and Carl Corley; and one daughter: Juankeysha Lashone Simpson.
Janie leaves to cherish loving memories her husband David Whaley; three daughters: Elizabeth B. Moseley, Amy Y. Moseley and Latodra N. Simpson; nine grandchildren: Amyeishia Y. Fuller, Nathaniel Robinson, Jr., Rikko A. Fuller, Juankisha T. N. Robinson, Bre’Seven S. Young, Tre’Shaun M. Cobbs, Jakaya D, Moseley, Alquan M. Cobbs, and Yajerian Q. Moseley; three great-grandchildren; Legasy S. Backmon, Xavien Davis and Logan Davis; four brothers: John H. Corley, Steven Corley, Ricky Corley and Michael Corley; sisters-in-law: Jessie L. Fogle, Ruth Williams, Willie L. Duley, Alma Mays, Margaret Mack, Marie Calloway, Mary Whaley, and Melvin (Lucinda) Whaley and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The Viewing will be held on Thursday June 4, 2020 at Glover's Funersl Home from 1:00-7:00 p.m.
