James Stroman Obituary

Mr. James H. Stroman, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert (Frances) Tyler Stroman, was born on September 6, 1940 in Orangeburg, SC. He departed this life on October, 4 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston SC after an extended illness. 

Mr. James Stroman, affectionately known as “Shot” by many, was educated in the Orangeburg public school system. He worked at Roper Lawn Products and retired early due to illness. He had a great sense of humor and many hobbies that he loved and enjoyed that included hunting, fishing, playing baseball, and dancing. He loved grilling and cooking for gatherings with family and friends, his specialty was ribs and chicken. Above all things he had a great love for his family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Billie Stroman-Wade, Carol J. Stroman, Hattie Stroman-Rhames, Curtis Stroman, Linwood Stroman, Jewitte Stroman, and Espy Stroman. 

He will be deeply missed and leaves fond memories to be cherished by his loving wife of 57 years, Rosa Lee Wade-Stroman of the home; three daughters: Mrs. Jacqueline Stroman-Sandle (Anthony) of Charlotte, NC, Ms. Frances Stroman of Columbia, SC, and Ms. Tracy Stroman, of Orangeburg, SC; two sons: Mr. James Lucas (Pamela) of Orangeburg, SC and Mr. Mark Wilson of Connecticut; two sisters: Mrs. Mary F. Stroman-Webb, of Bellevue, NE and Mrs. Margaret Stroman-Felder (Leroy) of Savannah, GA; one brother: Mr. John S. Stroman (Angelina) of Tennessee; two brothers-in-law: Mr. Carey Wade (Ethel) of Cordova, SC and Mr. Isadore Wade (Annie) of St. Mathews, SC; 11 grandchildren: Jasmine, Megan, Brittany, Jaylen, Antineal, Juston, Jeremie, Jillian, Mark, Isaiah and Cherisse; 7 great-grands: Kyng, Queen, Imani, Jamari, Javon, Logan, and Mila; and an adopted family: Cedrick and Charlene Sweeper, (Cheyla/Chamar); and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday,October 9,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 3:00pm until 7:00pm.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday,October 102,020 at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Norway,SC beginning at 11:00am.
