Mr. James “Skace” Laverne Felder was born on July 6, 1953 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late Cornelius Felder and the late Rosa Lee Davis Felder. On Friday, May 14, 2021, James transitioned into eternal rest at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
James joined Old Mt Zion Baptist Church at an early age. James attended Orangeburg Public Schools and he was employed at Shady Grove Nursery for many years. James later became employed by Stillinger Body Shop, Inc. as a Wrecker Driver, and office worker for 30 + years.
James was a quiet and pleasant person. He was affectionately known as “Skace” to his friends.
James was united in marriage to the former Gearline Shuler on November 12, 1971 and to this union two beautiful children were born.
James was preceded in death by his four brothers: Henry Clay Felder, Hercules Felder, Gene “CD” Felder, and Joseph Felder; One sister, Virgie Shuler.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: One daughter, Sharone (Barson) Felder Lee of Stone Mountain, GA; One son, Jamie Felder of Cummings, GA. Two grandsons, Trea’Vyaughne Lee of Stone Mountain, GA and DeVonte Felder of Cummings, GA: Four sisters: Rhodia Mae (Curtis) Spells of Columbia, SC, Evelyn Thomas of White Plains, NY, Rosa (Horace, Sr.) Jacques and Eartha Coulter both of Orangeburg, SC: One Aunt, Jessie Bell Livingston of Rowesville, SC; Three sisters-in-law; Mary Ann Cain of Manning, SC, Daisy Dickerson, Pearline (Benjamin) Banks both of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held at Glover's Funeral Home on Friday, May 21,2021 at 1:00pm until 7:00pm.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery 707 Arista Rd. Bowman, SC 29018 on Saturday, May 22,2021 beginning at 10am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
