James Allen Bookard, Jr. (Jimmy) was born in Bowman,SC to the late Mr. Romie (Jim) and Zena Bookard Jackson.
Jimmy joined Mt.Zion Baptist Church as a child. He sang with Men of Praise and continued to serve as he could. He loved people, was very friendly, and he loved sports. Jimmy attend Bethune Memorial of Bowman Schools.
Preceding him in death is his parents, nephew, John Reed, and sister, Janie Lou Reed.
He is survived by his sister, Lillie Sowell of Orangeburg, two brother, Herman (Louis) Bookard of Bowman, Johnny (Olivia) Bookard of Maryland; one aunt Lisa Elliot of Philadelphia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Thursday, January 30,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31,2020 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 707 Arista Rd Bowman,SC 29018 beginning at 1:00p.m.
