Hubert (Babe) Robinson, Sr.

Hubert “Babe” Robinson, Sr. was born December 24, 1946 in Calhoun County (SC). He transitioned into eternal joy on February 13, 2021 from a brief illness at his home. Hubert joined Prodigal AME Church at an early age. Babe bought the gift of happiness to everyone he encountered. He leaves behind to cherish Lillie Robinson (spouse), three children, Tresa Amaker of New York, Herbert Robinson (Felicia) of Blythewood, SC, and Hubert Robinson Jr. (Shandon) of Irmo, SC, and 6 grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Esau Robinson, Jr. (Gustine) of Columbia, SC, one aunt, Dorothy Johnson of Swansea, SC, and a special cousin raised like a sister, Denise Johnson. A host of nieces, nephews,cousins, and friends. Babe was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Esau Robinson (Edna), Abraham Robinson, Jacob Robinson, twin brothers Johnny and Jackie Robinson, Roosevelt Robinson, Sr. and one sister, Ms. Edna “Tiny” Robinson.

Overall Hubert Robinson Sr. impacted everyone he came into contact with and will be greatly missed.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Monday, February 22,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 7:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 23,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 3:00pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations. Services will be streamed live on our Facebook page Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
